Klimatavtal in Helsingborg is working for a greener Helsingborg. The initiative brings together actors who are working to improve quality of life in a sustainable future.

Helsingborg has been named Sweden’s best environmental municipality for several years in a row and is at the forefront of municipal sustainability work. We have an ambitious climate and energy plan, stating that net emissions of greenhouse gases in Helsingborg should be zero by 2030.
But to reach this goal, we must work together. There is a lot that the City of Helsingborg can do as a municipality, but if we are to achieve the lofty goals in our climate and energy plan, we have to cooperate with the business community. Klimatavtal in Helsingborg and the city’s climate agreement are the engine for that collaboration.
In Helsingborg, there are two local climate agreements, which says something about the level of ambition locally.
Helsingborg’s climate agreement was first, an initiative by citizens for citizens. Those who live or work in Helsingborg can declare their decision to reduce their climate impact by signing an agreement on the website klimatavtalet.se.
Klimatavtal in Helsingborg was launched in 2021 and is an agreement between the city and the local business community. It is voluntary to participate, but all companies that sign up undertake to make a number of commitments for increased sustainability. After the City Expo H22, which is helg in the summer of 2022, we will begin developing Klimatavtal in Helsingborg into something even greater. We want to create an interactive community of climate actors – a platform for businesses, citizens and associations to create change together.
